Mangaluru: Srinivas Hospital Mukka organises Walkathon on World Heart Day

Mangaluru, Sep 29: On occasion of World Heart Day, Srinivas Hospital Mukka organised a Walkathon of 5km from Surathkal junction to Srinivas Hospital, Mukka. The walkathon began with warm-up aerobic session from Srinivas College of Physiotherapy. The programme was inaugurated by the pro-chancellor, Srinivas University, Dr A Srinivas Rao.

The programme was addressed by Dr Subramanyam, the chief interventional Cardiologist, professor and head, department Of Cardiology, who addressed the gathering and stressed upon importance of healthy living with lifestyle modification. He also emphasised that regular health check and follow up will keep the heart healthy. Dr Subramanyam, also informed on various techniques to extend the healthy heart for a wealthy living. The theme for the year is 'Use heart for every Heart'.

Srinivas Hospital in association with the staff, students, general public and various associations conducted the Walkathon. More than 1000 people participated in the event. The placards were displayed focusing on healthy lifestyle and awareness regarding cardiac health.
