Kuwait: 'Bairas Bhaskare' enthralls audience at BSK’s ‘Billava Chavadi’

Kuwait, Oct 1: Billava Sangha Kuwait (BSK), led by president Sushma Manoj, organized ‘Billava Chavadi' at the Aspire Indian International School, Auditorium, Abbasiya on September 30. Comedy drama 'Bairas Bhaskare' and entertainment event 'Denna Dennana' were the highlights of the event.

The programme started with national anthem of Kuwait and India followed by formal welcome by compare of the day Ashwita Surendra Poojary. After the prayer traditional light was lit by BSK president, chief guest Abdul Razak, guest of honour Sajeev Narayanan and management committee members. A souvenir brought by Pilivesha was released to mark the event. After the presidential speech by Sushma Manoj, audience were welcomed with a dance by Shine Venugopal which is choreographed by Vijaylakshmi.

Group dance representing Variety of Tulunadu culture ‘Denna Denna Na’ was the main attraction of the event. It included Tiger Dance, Yakshagana, Guddeda Bhoota, and folk dances. Audience were entertained with remix dance choreographed by Sudha Sandesh Amin, Hindi song by Ishan Govinda, Yakshagana Dance choreographed by Kavya Prashanth, Tiger Dance choreographed by Krishna Poojary and Guddeda Bhoota Choreographed by Dhanraj Thalpady. A video clip was presented on journey of BSK.

Tulu Comedy Drama 'Bairas Bhaskare' written by Harish Padubidri and directed by Mahesh Polali was played by guest and local artists. The play was enacted by ShashidharaGujaran (guest artiste), Lucy Aranha, Gautham Suvarna, Amarnath Suvarna, Sujeet Amin, Ashwini Pinto, Sushmitha Amin, Mahesh Polali, Sujith Kotian, Rajesh Kunder, Mithun Vishwanath, Dheeraj Salian, Anish Kotian, Prabhakar Bola, Ghanshyam Attavar, Suresh Bangera and Sathish Kotian. The music was provided by Karthik Kadekar (guest artist) and lighting by Sunil Sumesh Mendonca. The sound and lights for the event was provided by Waves Events & Rentals.

During the programme, visiting artists, sponsors, artistes and previous presidents were were honored by flower bouquets and mementos. BSK members Prabhakar Bolar and Krishna Sanjeev Poojary were honored for their contribution. Games and spot prizes were conducted to keep the audience busy. General secretary Anish Kotian proposed vote of thanks.

After Covid breakdown, this was the first Tulu event in Kuwait which gave confidence to the Mangalureans in Kuwait on relief from the pandemic. During post pandemic financial crisis time, BSK’s efforts in organizing such an event is highly appreciated. The hpousefull audience thoroughly enjoyed the whole event which concluded with dinner.
