Sullia: KVG Medical College AO Hacked to Death

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Apr 29: In a gory incident that occurred between 7 pm and 8 pm on Thursday April 28 here, Ramakrishna A S (48), working as administrative officer (AO) of KVG Medical College here, was hacked to death by unknown persons.

Ramakrishna was walking along Ambetadka Road in the company of his son, Vallish (13), when unidentified assailants suddenly accosted them and hit Ramakrishna in the face with swords. Although he was moved to KVG Medical College immediately, he had breathed his last by then. Two attackers were said to be hiding behind the bushes for him. After the attack, they fled in a motor bike. Vallish, who ran away from the spot, escaped unscathed.

Initially, Ramakrishna used to function as the principal of KVG Polytechnic and then as the administrative officer of KVG Group of Educational Institutions. He later took over as the administrative officer of KVG Medical College. He was known to be a hard worker, who always aimed at good governance and efficient administration.

Ramakrishna was the son of Venkatakrishnaiah, a retired teacher from Mulya in Atloor, and Kalavati, also a retired teacher. He was close to the family of Kurunji Venkataramana Gowda, founder president of Academy of Liberal Education, which is managing KVG group of educational institutions. The murder appears to be pre-planned. He is survived by a son and a daughter. Hundreds of people, concerned about his condition, rushed to the hospital as soon as the news of the lethal assault spread.

MLA, S Angara, zilla panchayat member, Navin Kumar, and scores of other dignitaries have mourned the untimely death of Ramakrishna, and expressed anguish at the ghastly incident.
