Mangaluru Dasara procession: Alternative routes for vehicular movement

Mangaluru, Oct 5: The Dasara procession will be held in the city in a grand manner on Wednesday from Kudroli Sri Gokarnatheshwara temple. Alternative arrangements are made from 2 pm on October 5 to 6 am on October 6.

Entry to city from Kottara Chowki junction is prohibited. These vehicles have to proceed through Kuntikan, KPT and Nanthoor route. Vehicle movement via Brahmashree Narayana Guru Circle to Kottara Chowki is prohibited. Movement of vehicles to Kuntikan and KPT via Lalbagh is prohibited. All vehicles moving from K S Rao Road to M G Road should move on PVS road to Bunts Hostel. Vehicles moving from Ambedkar Circle to M G Road should go via Bunts Hostel.

Vehicular movement from New Chitra junction to Brahmashree Narayana Guru Circle via Gokarnatheshwara temple is prohibited. Vehicles have to move from New Chitra junction via Kandathpalli, Mandi, Kudroli, Bokkapatna and Sultan Batheri route to Urwa Market and out of the city. Similarly from New Chithra junction via Dongarakeri, Venkatramana temple junction, Rashtrakavi M Govinda Pai Circle, PVS to Bunts Hostel.

All vehicular movement from Brahmashree Narayana Guru Circle to Kudroli temple is prohibited. Vehicles approaching from Urwastore towards Narayana Guru Circle should take Kotekani, Kottara Cross, Kapikad, KSRTC and Bejai Market junction route.

All vehicle movement from KSRTC junction to M G Road via Lalbagh and from Bejai Market junction to KSRTC is prohibited. Vehicles approaching from Kuntikan have to take left at KSRTC junction and proceed through Bejai Market junction. Vehicle arriving from Bejai Market junction to M G Road via Lalbagh junction should take deviation at KSRTC junction and move towards Bejai market junction.

All vehicular movement from veterinary hospital (Capuchin church) junction to Korirotti junction (M G Road) is prohibited. All KSRTC buses moving towards Pumpwell should proceed through KPT junction and those going to Udupi should move via Kuntikan junction.

Vehicle parking on both sides of the road through which the procession passes is strictly prohibited. As the tableau will get ready at Kudroli Narayana Guru college, all vehicle parking on both sides of the road from Narayana Guru college junction to Barke junction and from Barke Junction to Durga Mahal is prohibited.

As all tableau taking part in the procession will arrive from Urwa Market junction via Gandhinagar to Mannagudda Gurji junction, vehicle parking on both sides of the road from Mannagudda Gurji junction to Urwa Market junction, in front of Gandhinagar Park and on cross roads 1 to 8 of Gandhinagar is prohibited.

Alternative arrangement for traffic is also made for the Carstreet Sharada procession from 6 pm of October 6 to 6 am on October 7. Vehicular movement from Balaji junction to car street Venkatramana temple is prohibited. Vehicles have to move through lower Car Street and Azeezuddin Road.

Vehicular movement from Ganapathi High school junction to car street is prohibited. These vehicles have to move on the road opposite Tara clinic via Sharavu temple to K S Rao Road. Vehicle parking on both sides of the road from Central Market to Car Street is prohibited. These vehicles have to move on Central Market road and through Clock tower and vehicle parking on both sides of the road is prohibited.

These changes are announced in the publication of Mangaluru city police commissioner.
