Udupi: First ever Uchila Dasara concludes on a grand note

Udupi, Oct 7: The most-anticipated Dasara celebrations of Udupi district, the Uchila Dasara 2022, concluded here on a grand note. The immersion of Sharada Mata and Navadurga was held in a grand manner.

The procession began from Uchila Sri Mahalakshmi temple after performing pooja to the idols of Sharada and Navadurgas. The grand procession including more than 75 tableaus, tiger dance troupes and other cultural activities enthralled the audiences. Live singing concerts were also organized in the midst of the procession. The procession was carried till Hejamady toll gate and then back to Kaup beach lighthouse where the immersion of the idols took place.

Flowers were showered from a helicopter which became the main attraction.

A large number of devotees participated in the final day of the Navaratri festivities held in Uchila temple.

Lacs of devotees visited Uchila Mahalakshmi temple during the ten days of Navaratri. Mogaveera community of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district participated wholeheartedly in the festivities.

Nadoja Dr G Shankar, honorary advisor Uchila Sri Mahalakshmi temple, Dr MN Rajendra Kumar, president, SCDCC Bank, Yashpal Suvarna, president, Udupi- Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Fishing Federation, Harikrishna Punarror, former president, Karnataka Sahitya Parishad, Lalaji R Mendon, MLA Kaup, Raghupathi Bhat, MLA Udupi, Jaya C Kotian, president, Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Mahajana Sangha, Vasudeva Salian, president, zonal samiti and others were present.

    While it's great that the function was a great success next time please do not block a busy highway. It was a mess! Atleast spend small fraction of funds on decent traffic planning and management.

    Except for the horrible mismanagement of traffic in NH66. There was no need to block a National Highway. Atleast should have allowed to and fro traffic on any 2 lanes. I noticed atleast 4 Ambulances with patients struggling to move forward. Udupi Mangalore travel took me 3 hours!! NHAI was prompt on collecting toll though :)

    Nice to see the Mogaveera community's Unity.., the prosperity in education, entrepreneurial aspirations, economic empowerment was facilitated by the previous Congress Govt both at state & central level, during the post Independence period under the able & educated leadership of Visionary Ex PM's like Shri Nehruji, Shri Rajiv Gandhiji, Smt Indira Gandhiji, Shri Manmohan Singhji etc., Sorry to see the today's politicians capitalising their well being to meet their political ends meet., to support the third class thug crony businessmens..,

    @Ramesha, how are you sir, how is your health, thanks for your kind advice.., meanwhile please attend one reported clashes between upper class Hindus Vs Dalit Hindus... issue, I am pretty sure it's not a FEKU clash, must be a genuine one, I am confident that you could solve it.., meanwhile I can only suggest one chai... once again take care Sir...
