Film actor Anant Nag conferred honorary doctorate

Bengaluru, Oct 7: The Bengaluru North University presented the honorary doctorate to veteran Kannada actor Anant Nag on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Higher Education, who conferred the award, said the university has honoured itself by awarding doctorate to talented actor Anant Nag.

Terming, Anant Nag and his younger brother late Shankar Nag as proud sons of Mother Bhuvaneswari, the minister said both played a crucial role in bringing about a political change in the State through former Chief Minister late Ramakrishna Hegde.

Anant Nag, hailing from coastal Uttara Kannada district and known for his studiousness and thoughtfulness, has left an indelible mark in public life also, the minister said.

Anant Nag who spoke on receiving the Doctorate, said Dr C N Ashwath Narayan is relentlessly strive for the development of Malleswaram assembly constituency.

Dr Niranjan, Vice Chancellor, Bangalore North University, Kemperaju, former Vice-Chancellor, Ba Ma Harish, Chairperson, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, Sadashiva Shenoy, Chairperson, Karnataka Madhyama Academy were among a few who were present.
