Kuwait, May 2: A beautiful classical dance presented by ‘Rhythm Scapes’, choreographed by Sangeeta Prasad, provided a flying start to ‘Rasamanjari-2011’ programme organized by Tulu Koota Kuwait on Friday, April 29, 2011, at the American International School, Maidan Hawally here. People hailing from Tulunadu turned out in large numbers to witness this superbly entertaining event. ‘Rasamjari-2011’ was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the chief guests for the event, Satishchandra Shetty, John Paul Fernandes, Felix D’souza Al Rathath, Tulu Koota Kuwait cultural secretary, Ronald D’souza, and president, Swarna Shetty, and other managing committee members.
Melodious songs by Sangeeta Balachandra and Jagdish Puttur captivated the audience, and incredible dance performances by the children of ‘RAK Dance Academy’, ‘Dhoom Boys’, and ‘The Dancing Divas’ were a treat to watch. Comedy skits by Agnello Saldanha, Avil Fernandes, and Nassar Group, made the audience break into splits of laughter. Singer Melwyn D’souza enthralled the audience with his lively performances. Drums played by Sathish Bannanje revived memories of Tulunadu’s famous ‘Pilivesha’, and drew the audience to the stage, and made them to dance with gay abandon to the drum beats. Mimicry artiste, Sudarshan, charmed the viewers with his mimicking talent. Foot-tapping numbers sung by the winners of the ‘Gulf Voice of Mangalore’, Vinay Lewis, Gladys Lorrenha and Warren D’Souza, were enjoyed by everyone present at the programme. Dance performance by the kids of Tulukoota Kuwait to the hit number, ‘Zor ka Zatka Dheerey Se Laga’, won the maximum applause and praises. This beautiful dance number was choreographed by Shobha Bhandary. The programme sponsors, UAE Exchange, Swiss Bell Hotel Plaza, Sanbouk International, Gulf Readymix, and Concrete Co, Diva Ladies Salon, Power Control, Al Rathath, Oriental Restaurant, Smile Computers, Jet Airways, Avanti Restaurant, and Delhi Darbar, were honoured with the presentation of mementos. Mementos were also presented to the artistes, who performed at the event, as a mark of honor.
Tulu Koota Kuwait announced the launch of ‘Talent Show-2011’, and invited the talented members of various age groups to enthusiastically participate in the show, by filling in the forms, which will soon be made available in Tulu Koota Kuwait website. The beautiful evening came to an end with the vote of thanks, proposed by Koota’s general secretary, Harish Kaup. Back stage announcements were perfectly handled by Kripa Gatty and Smitha Manoj Shetty. Compering of the programme was beautifully done by Ramesh Bhandary and Shobha Bhandary. Music for the event was provided by Adrian Gomes, and lighting and sound were provided by Illuminations- Anand D’souza. Photography and videography at the event were supported by Drishya Digitals. A beautiful brochure containing Tulukoota Kuwait donors, and supporters’ advertisements, was distributed at the event. The brochure designing was handled by Manoj and Sushma Bangera. Slides and multimedia projection were meticulously managed by Ramesh Bhandary and team.
