Bengaluru, Oct 8: Higher Education and Minister for IT/BT Dr C N Ashwath Narayan said the State Government plans to set up a CERT (computer emergency response team) for effective coordination of responses against cyber incidents.
Inaugurating the National Cyber Security Awareness Month at Vidhana Soudha, he said in the post-COVID situation as we are moving towards large scale digital transformation challenges to cyber security are also on the rise.
``Protecting our IT assets is of paramount importance and the upcoming generation need to be cyber sensitive from the student level itself,’’ he explained. The minister said several courses related to Cyber Security have been included as part of the curriculum in polytechnic, diploma and engineering. In addition to this, cyber awareness will be made part of the curriculum for all the students.
Professor B Thimme Gowda, Vice- Chairperson, State Higher Education Council, Dr Karthik Bappanadu of CySecK (Cyber Security Karnataka) Dr Ashok Raichur of Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Meena Nagaraj, Director, Department of IT were present.
