Bantwal: Accident accused absconding for five years arrested

Bantwal, Oct 10: Police arrested accused, who was responsible for the death of a pedestrian five years ago, and was absconding without attending court hearing.

Selvaraj, native of Periyavadagarai of Vepan taluk of Perambadoor district of Tamil Nadu, is the arrested person. Bantwal traffic police arrested him from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh.

Accused Selvaraj is a tanker driver. In 2017, he had knocked down a pedestrian who was walking by the road side at Kaikamba near B C Road and caused his death. Later, he went absconding without attending the court.

Court remanded accused Selvaraj to judicial custody.

    This is how you waste valuable time of police in small cases .. Police had to go all way to kadapa in Andhra pradesh... If he was guilty ,why did they let him loose.. Make dash cams compulsory for all vehicles. Looks like half of drivers have cases on them other half are well influenced. Half of cases involving two Wheeler and car, lorry are extortion rackets like vijays movie.
