Bengaluru, Oct 11: The Karnataka government delegation led by Minister for Large and Medium Industries Murugesh R Nirani held meeting with Sanjiv Puri, CMD, ITC and Anil Rajput, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, ITC in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The minister requested the ITC Group to establish a five-star hotel in Badami to cater to domestic and international tourists visiting the historical tourist attraction.
Badami, Aihole and Pattadakal are major tourist attractions of Karnataka and setting up a five-star hotel will give a big boost to tourism, the minister suggested and said the Stare Government would extend necessary help and support.
ITC Group CMD Sanjiv Puri assured the minister that the Group will examine the feasibility and take a decision.
The minister extended a formal invitation to ITC to participate in the Global Investors’ Meet (GIM) scheduled on November 2, 3 and 4 in Bengaluru.
Additional Chief Secretary to the Government Dr E V Ramana Reddy and Commissioner for Industries Gunjan Krishna, Ullas Kamath, IKF Board Member, Chairman, FICCI, Karnataka State Council participated in the meeting.
