Mangaluru: Carmel School observes World Heart Day

Mangaluru, Oct 13: World Heart Day was observed in Carmel School on October 13 to raise awareness about the rising concerns of heart health cardiovascular illnesses and how heart care is of utmost importance.

The students of grade 7 A under the able guidance of Anusha set the tone for the day through prayer and scripture readings.

Poorvi stressed on the best exercises to strengthen one’s heart and spoke at length about the theme for World Heart Day - Use Heart for Every Heart – 'Make Health and Fitness a Lifestyle’- This theme was wonderfullyillustrated in the skit entitled ‘Health and Medicine’.

Sonia Monteiro through her limpid and gripping style of presentation and with a right blend of definition, narration, anecdotes, popular quotes and questions for thought offered an invitation to the children, parents and teachers to make life meaningful and joyful through prevention of coronary infarction . She further highlighted on the ways and means of winning more and more hearts through love and empathy – the message was indeed thought provoking and deeply appreciated by the audience.

Sr Violette – the aaministrator and Sr Preena graced the occasion. Yuktha K Gowda of class 3C and Lanessa Raizel Jackson of Class 3A were honored for their performances in skating.

The programme was compeered by Alifiya Murtaza Miyajeewala and Viola Simron Menezes. Khatheeja Nazra and Aysha Aleena proposed the vote of thanks.
