Srinagar, May 4 (PTI): The sixth phase of Panchayat elections today began in four blocks of the Kashmir Valley and eight blocks in Jammu division in the state, officials said.
The votes are being cast in north Kashmir's Langate block in Kupwara district and Tangmarg block in Baramulla district.
In south Kashmir's Breng block in Anantnag district votes were being cast to elect the grass root level representatives.
Khag block in central Kashmir's Budgam district also went to voting today.
The eight blocks in Jammu division where the panchayat elections are underway include Mahore in Reasi district, Majalta in Udhampur district, Bilawar in Kathua district, Dansal in Jammu district, Marmat in Doda District, Drabshalla in Kishtwar district, Surankote and Bafliaz in Poonch district.
The first leg of the 16-phase polls was held in eight blocks of the state on April 13.
