Mangaluru: World Egg Day celebrated at YIASCM

Mangaluru, Oct 15: The yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM), and department of Hospitality Science students celebrated World Egg Day.

The handmade egg was hatched and inaugurated by the chief guests Dr Sakeena Naseer, professor and HOD department of Humanities and Social Sciences and Dr Balakrishna Kalluraya, professor and HOD department of Chemistry, YIASCM along with Mervin Vas, HOD, department of Hospitality Science.

The guest were formally welcomed by the students with a rose. All faculty members along with the students of the department of Hospitality Science were present for the event.

Chief guest Dr Sakeena addressed the students and highligted the use and importance of the egg in daily life and its availability. Later, Dr Balakrishna Kalluraya stressed on the health benefits of egg.

Then the students of second year performed a beautiful dance on song 'Ande ka Funda'.

The programme then ended with vote of thanks. Later, students prepared boiled eggs and sold it in the college premises.

Afnan Moosa, president-elect, department student board, hosted the event.
