Mangaluru, Oct 17: The muhurat of the Konkani drama, 'Hanv Sath Sangtam' was held at St Antony Ashram on Sunday, October 16.
The drama is written by Fr Ronald Serrao, Rector, Jeppu ceremony. The first show will be played on the occasion of post centenary celebrations of St Antony Ashram, Jeppu.
Welcoming the gathering Fr J B Crasta, sirector, St Antony Ashram, Jeppu, said, "Apart from the shelter for senior citizens, the St Antony Ashram is also involved in many socio-cultural programmes. The service lent by the institution has a history of more than 100 years. Now the institution is celebrating its post centenary jubilee. On the occasion of jubilee, the management had planned to play a drama which is written by Fr Ronald Serrao who is known for his deep knowledge of the Bible. Being a writer of number of books, Fr Ronald wrote 'Hanv Sath Sangtam' in a unique way. Joel Pereira, a known personality in Konkani stage and music will direct the play. I am happy to give the responsibility of drama to Joel because of his brilliance in dramas."
In his speech, Fr Ronald said, "I wrote the script 35 years ago. Every time, I got some disturbances when I planned to play it. Two years ago almost all the preparations were done for the drama. But unfortunately Covid made us drop our idea. Now the management of St Antony Ashram has come forward to play the drama . I am grateful to Fr J B Crasta and Joel Pereira for selecting the drama. I wish all the actors and directorial team of this drama the best."
Briefing about drama, Joel Pereira said the drama 'Hanv Sath Sangtam' is based on a dream of a man who had doubts on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The pre-recorded drama has two parts. One part is direct play on stage and another will be a shooting part which will be displayed on screen. Known artistes of Konkani entertainment world will take part in this drama. "
Fr Roopesh welcomed the gathering and compered the event. Senior play director Arthur Rasquinha and actor Jerome Moras were present for the muhurat.
