Udupi: Padubidri end point beach wins 'blue flag' certification for third time

Udupi, Oct 17: Padubidri end point beach has won the 'blue flag' certification for the third time.

The beach has fulfilled all the 33 criteria conceptualised by Denmark-based non-profit organisation Foundation for Environmental Education systematically.

Padubidri end point beach is among the few beaches in India to get the blue flag certification, according to Lifford Lobo, assistant director in-charge of tourism department.

Padubidri Beach is famous for its breezy sight along the Arabian sea coastline which also sees waves dance to the tunes of nature with river Kamini flowing in the east in all its majesty. Padubidri Beach attracts tourists for being a pristine destination and is a sight to behold for all.

The criteria for certification include environmental education, information, maintenance, water level, safety and service among the 33 parameters set by the organisation to award blue flag certification.

Padubidri end point beach has won the blue flag certification for maintaining cleanliness and order.

Padubidri Beach is one of the 13 beaches in the country to get blue flag certification.

The beach had won the certification three years ago.
