Indian Equities Markets Off to a Dull Start


Mumbai, May 5 (IANS) Indian equities markets started dull Thursday with a benchmark index nudging up from its previous close and broader markets trading quiet.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) which opened at 18,484.71 points, was ruling at 18,482.68 points, up 13.32 points or 0.1 percent from its previous close at 18,469.36 points.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading quiet at 5,539.35 points, up 0.04 percent.

Broader markets were ruling dull as well with the BSE midcap index up 0.27 percent and the BSE small cap index up 0.16 percent.
