The deceased has been identified as Sathish Subraya Prabhu (52), a Shirur-based entrepreneur, a BJP activist and president of Shirur Government Pre-university college progress committee.

He was a progressive farmer and had passionately indulged in social, educational and religious sectors. He was a senior member of the RSS, member of Pete Venkataramana temple committee and religious leader. His demise has shocked many of his well-wishers.
