Mangaluru, Oct 21: Karnataka Bank handed over ‘AKIRA Pico premiere laser equipment’ under its CSR fund worth Rs 15 lac to District Wenlock Hospital’s department of Dermatology on Friday, October 21.

The laser equipment was handed over to district Wenlock Hospital in the presence of CEO and managing director of Karnataka Bank Mahabaleshwar M S.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahabaleshwar M S said, “The advanced pigment laser equipment has been handed over to the dermatology department under CSR funds. Karnataka Bank has developed good relations with the district Wenlock Hospital. Instead of terming it as a skin disease treatment I prefer terming it as skin health treatment. Hospital exists to treat your health and not the disease. Every department needs to be redefined with a positive aspect.”

Dr Shreya Deshpande briefed about the pigment laser equipment which helps erase the black marks in the skin and amateur tattoos.

District medical officer Dr Sadashiv Shanbhaug, RMO Dr Sudhakar, HOD Department of Dermatology Dr Gaatha Upadhyaya and others were present.

Senior dermatologist surgeon Dr Dinesh Kamath welcomed the gathering. Associate professor of KMC Dr Kashinath proposed the vote of thanks and Dr Naveen compered the event.
