Udupi, Oct 22: The death of a youth, resident of Kukkehalli, which was termed as a case of suicide, turned into murder after investigation. The police have arrested the accused.

A complaint was filed in Hiriyadka police station on October 14 in which it was mentioned that Kritik Salian (22), a resident of Pandukatte had killed himself. However, the family members of Kritik suspected that Kritik was murdered.

During police investigation, it came to light that Kritik was indeed murdered by his distant relative Dinesh Safaliga (44). He was arrested by the police.

Accused Dinesh had borrowed lacs of rupees from deceased Kritik and was harassing Kritik by not returning the amount. During investigation, the cops unearthed that Dinesh made Kritik to believe that he will make a video of his suicide just for fun and killed him in the process.

Hiriyadka police are probing further.
