Mangaluru, Oct 22: KSRTC bus service that connects international airport in the city from Mangaluru and Manipal is expected to begin on October 27.

Demand for bus transport to international airport is long standing one. Though bus service started many years ago, it was dropped giving loss of revenue as the reason. Few months ago, transport minister Sriramulu had instructed to provide bus service as per demand. Four Volvo buses were also sent from Mysuru depot to Mangaluru depot. However, the service did not begin as permit from RTO was not available.

With increase in air traffic and other developments, private city buses must also be given permits to MIA. This will also benefit low salaried employees working in MIA.
