Mangaluru: Man working in Dubai fleeced of Rs 2.16 crore over land deal

Mangaluru, Oct 22: A case is filed in city CEN police station accusing cheating Rs 2.40 crore on the pretext of providing one acre of land in Kerala.

Abdulla Udyavara Bellikunhi is the victim of fraud. He was working and living in Dubai and has an apartment at Falnir. He had given the flat to his relative Mohammed Abdul Majid P for residing. Mohammed Abdul came to know through others that Abdulla is looking out for land. He spoke to Abdulla over a phone call and said that there is 1.01 acre plot for sale in Kerala and its owner is in Dubai. Accused Mohammed Abdul also showed photocopies of the property to Abdulla and made him believe that the deal was genuine.

Abdulla came down to Falnir and paid Rs 2,16,96,470 to Mohammed Abdul. However, the accused did not get the land registered in Abdulla’s name. When inquired, he threatened Abdulla. In addition, he had sold the land to someone else.

CEN police are probing further.
