Mangaluru: Deepavali celebration held at Lourdes Central School

Mangaluru, Oct 22: Deepavali celebration was conducted in Lourdes Central School at the school ground on October 22 during the morning assembly.

The programme began with a prayer and a prayer song followed by the intentions.

A genial welcome was given by the MC Meghna Bhat of class IX D. To bring in the ambience of celebration and enjoy the wonderful celebration of Deepavali, the students of class VII to X sang a melodious song in Kannada which meant 'light a lamp and pass on the light'.

A short skit was presented by the students of class XI C on 'Eco Friendly Diwali' which depicted the meaningful way of celebration and also the dangers and hazards of burning crackers. They also showed the safe way of burning crackers known as green crackers.

The manager Dr John Baptist Saldanha spoke on the occasion and appreciated the staff and students for their whole hearted involvement in the celebration of Deepavali and decorating the whole school. He urged the students and staff to self-introspect and be aware of the power to outshine darkness and clear all the obstacles in life.
