Mangaluru, Oct 22: The Customs officers at Mangaluru International Airport seized 3124.540 grams of 24 carat purity gold valued at Rs 1,59,66,883 from October 8 to October 21.

The gold was seized from five male passengers who arrived from Dubai.

The gold was smuggled through different modus operandi such as concealment in the paste powder form mixed with solid gum inside jeans, trousers, inner wears worn by the passengers, in rectum and through towels dipped into some solution containing gold.

    If I am not mistaken, its the 'common factor's 2nd contribution for the day .Ironically they wont condemn this .But will be blame Adani for running the airport and the Govt officials for confiscating the goods and accuse them of pocketing this. They will also squarely blame the Govt for the Economic situation and justify smuggling as the only option of liveliehood. Of course, lastly they will play the victim card .

    Economic condition of India is great! It is not the Indian rupee falling like, it is the dollar which is becoming strong ;) ;) ;). Gold is not taxed heavily in India and in Dhanteras Gold is bought by Muslims ;) ;) ;) Happy?

    Just to correct you. The airport is run by Adani. The gold seized/recovered goes into the governments treasury. It is a different question if every seizure is accounted and audited. Hope it is not like PM cares fund 🤣🤣🤣 It is true that Adani and Co is favored by BJ goberment by awarding airport contracts. You scratch my back, I scratch yours.
