Moodbidri: Carmel School celebrates Deepavali

Moodbidri, Oct 22: Carmel School Moodbidri celebrated the festival of lights - Deepavali with great enthusiasm on October 22. Deepavali is a celebration of triumph of good over evil, victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance and hope over despair.

The school auditorium was decorated with colourful rangoli, flowers and diyas with colours and glitter. Colourful bulletin boards were displayed in the classrooms by the students. The programme commenced with a prayer service invoking god's blessings on all the gathering.

A genial welcome was given by Reona Pearl of class VIB. To bring in the ambience of celebration and enjoy the wonderful celebration of Deepavali students of class VIB presented a skit highlighting the true meaning of celebrating Diwali is to help others in need. The significance of the day was expressed by Anvesha Naik of VIB.

The chief guest Deepa in her message expressed the importance of Deepavali and wished the students with endless joy, health and wealth forever. Sr Jyothi, the principal on the occasion appreciated the students of class VIB and Tr Vidya who trained them for the beautiful programme. She also gave a meaningful message to the students to help one another and wished the students with happiness and prosperity.

The school had organised competitions for the students on the theme Diwali. On this occasion, the winners were honoured with certificates. Students of class VIII, IX and X were also felicitated for actively taking part in Bruhat Swachatha Abhiyana organised by Rotary Club Moodbidri on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi.

Niyathi Amin of class X was felicitated for securing 2nd place in drawing competition organised by “Prathiba Karanji”. Anushrutha B S of class VA donated her hair for cancer patients at CODP Sparsha Foundation and she was appreciated for her concern towards cancer patients.

Angel and Deeksha of class VIII, Sanvith, Devansh and Ishita Sharma of class V participated in 19th state level open Karate Championship 2022 organised by Shorin Ryn Karate Association and M K Ananth Raj college of physical education. Our school got the best supporting team 2022 and was honoured with a memento.

The programme was compered by Sanvi Riona and Chandan T Poojary of class VIB. The vote of thanks was proposed by Vilona Dsouza of class VIB.
