Police issue notice to actor Chetan for 'hurting' Hindu sentiments

Bengaluru, Oct 23 (IANS): Karnataka police have issued a notice to Kannada actor Chetan Ahimsa for his remark on 'Bhoota kola' ritual, which as per complainants allegedly hurt Hindu sentiments.

He is expected to appear before Sheshadripuram police in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Chetan had said that the 'Bhoota kola' ritual, which is shown in superhit 'Kantara' movie is not part of Hinduism.

Chetan has stated that Bhoota Kola is a ritual practiced by natives of the land and existed even before the Hindu religion came into existence in India.

The police have received many complaints against Chetan Ahimsa for his remarks on the Bhota kola ritual.

The complainants alleged that Chetan has insulted Hindu religion and his statements are allegedly intended to create rift between different castes.

Chetan had condemned Rishab Shetty, the director and actor of movie 'Kantara' for claiming that 'Bhoota kola' on which the movie is based is a ritual practiced by Hindus.

Reacting to the statements of Chetan Ahimsa, Rishab Shetty had stated that people will answer him.

Hindu organisations have objected to the remarks made by Chetan Ahimsa.

Complaints have been lodged at various places and police have taken up the investigation.

Bhoota Kola is a ritual during which people worship spirits which in turn advices them on array of issues.

nobody offers him any role to act in any film, the only other option to stay relevant is make such crazy remarks. just wondering if any remark was passed against the peaceful religion? would his head still remain intact with the rest of the body?

There is no creator ..Its only human imagination ... in truth The creator and the created are both one .. because you have created a difference your attempt to find god will fail .. It is one united movement ..Words are a limitation ...even if its coming from religious texts or holy books.

You are made of billions of cells but still you are not treated as billion cells but one Rezy Right?. Similarly every thing is part of one whole which is in eternal transformation. Why would some power create something when that power had everything?. To create something means there is a need right?. The diwine is explained in your scriptures as devoid of any need. if that supreme power had everthing why would he create something!!!

BTW, isn’t Chetan Ahimsa a Brahmin and a Hindu. Whatever a person’s religious background unless that person agrees with BJP’s idealogy then that person is condemned. No right to freedom of speech. Is the same govt doing anything for its own slain Hindu activists killed by them.??? Is the govt doing anything for gau Matha’s flesh export???. Is the govt doing anything to thousands of Hindu girls and women raped and murdered by BJP govt’s own ministers and activists????. Then where is this govt when Hindus need them during thier need of the hour????.?.This govt is only for itself rest everything is means to achieve that.

Chethan Ahimsa may be a Brahmin and Hindu. He has a right to give his opinion. there is nothing wrong as such. There are many followers of faith who have criticised Religion to which they are born to. So one can criticise in a free society. However, i have never seen in this forum opinions of the Likes of Sameer, Saahil, Sachwala, Liyakath Ali ,Ayaan Hirsi Ali, wafa sultan, Ali sina etc. Dont they have the right to air their opinions. is free speech a one sided affair?. So let us all bring them on to a a civilised debate. so that things are even.

Hinduism is a way of life. It is a coglomerate of varied practsises within a geographical region. It does not have a written code for someone to follow. its scriptures are not rule books but only of guidance value. So to say Bhootaradane is not Hinduism is wrong. Chetan is lucky as he will not be confronted with Sar tan se Juda as Hinduism is a very tolerant.

If Chetan Ahimsa is convinced with his guidance value of Bhootaradane is not part of Hinduism then why he should be accused??????…..Without rule book and no mention of it in any of sacred holy books then how can you accuse anyone just by one’s opinion of belief??????
