Oct 23: Dakshina Kannada reports seven Covid cases, one infection in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 23: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, October 23, reported seven new coronavirus cases while one case was registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,145, out of which 30 are currently active. As many as one patient was discharged on October 23.

No deaths were reported on October 23. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,861.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.17 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

One coronavirus case was reported on October 23. The total active Covid cases are 23.

A total of 10,90,802 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,963 have received both doses and 2,97,026 people have received booster doses.
