Udupi, Oct 24: The suicide case of Kritik J Salian (22), Baje resident under Kukkehalli village, that occurred a month ago, has taken unexpected twist. It is proved through investigation that Kritik was murdered by his distant relative Dinesh Safaliga (44), a resident of Baje.
Kritik’s body was found in hanging condition in a forest area between Kukkehalli and Baje on September 14. The family members of Kritik suspected foul play as lac of rupees in the bank account of Kritik was completely withdrawn.

Accused Dinesh killed Kritik to avoid repaying Rs nine lac loan he had taken from Kirtik. He hatched a master plan so that no one will suspect that Kritik was murdered and instead made it look as if it is suicide.
Brahmavar CI Anant Padmanabha and Hiriadka SI Anil B M chcked the bank account, CCTV of bank, gathered information from locals, took technical information and mobile data and unearthed that there was financial deal between the deceased and accused.
According to sources, accused Dinesh was working in a hotel at Mumbai since 10 years and had come back to native due to financial problem. He got acquainted with Kritik and took Rs nine lac in different phases. In the midst of these dealings, Dinesh came to know that Kritik was in love with a woman, whom he intended to get married to. Dinesh enticed Kritik to enact a fake suicide bid which will be shot on camera and send the video to the woman so that she will give her consent to marriage.
Dinesh asked Kritik to write a suicide note and later put the same in his trouser pocket. On September 14, accused Dinesh made Kritik to come to the forest area and put the noose around his neck from the branch of a tree and also kept stones below to make Kritik believe that it is fake suicide bid. He lifted Kritik and asked him to put the noose around his neck. Once Kritik put the noose, Dinesh removed the stones and made Kritik die due to hanging.
