Moodbidri: Foundation Stone Laid for ‘Allama Prabhu Peetam’ at Kantavara

Moodbidri, May 7: The foundation laying ceremony of Allama Prabhu Peetam was held at Kantheshwara town near Kantavara of here on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya on Friday May 6.

MP Sadananda Gowda laid the foundation laying ceremony on behalf of Udupi district in-charge minister V S Acharya who could not make it due to setback in his health.

Speaking on the occasion MP said that the installation of Allama Prabhu Peetam passes the good message to the society which in fact is marred by the evils of caste system. The message of achievement from Dakshina Kannada district has been published from initial days. This ‘Peetam’ is a new experiment, he noted.

Sanskrit University chancellor Prof Malleshwaram G Venkatesh opined that the message of Allama Prabhu is known to scholars, hence this effort is to uplift the society, he said. The philosophy of Allama Prabhu is accepted by many people in the world and he was a mentor who brought reforms in society, he added. 

Niranjana Basavamarala Sidda Swamy of Shimoga district in his benedictory address said that the insight of Allama Prabhu’s life should be understood by the people to lead pleasant life.

MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik said that one should step forward on the ways shown by Allama Prabhu.

Chief director of the Peetam Dr Na Mogasale said that even from political field, the education and cultural, to some extent even religion and literature field are becoming the scapegoat of corrupt system. People have forgotten their limits, he added.

Dr D K Chowta, founder president of the Peetam welcomed. Former MLA Sunil Kumar among others was present. Retired teacher Vittala Belady compered the programme. Director Gnanath Ekkaru delivered the vote of thanks.
