Mangaluru, Oct 23: “After BJP assumed power in the administration, they are suppressing women,” said KPCC general secretary Mamatha Gatti.
She was addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan here on Monday, October 24.
"Women cell of Congress severely condemns the abuse of Congress leader Prathibha Kulai on social media. In the Indian constitution, everyone has the right to protest," she said and added that the accused who abused Prathibha Kulai should be arrested very soon.
She also slammed Housing minister V Somanna for slapping a woman at an event.
It shows his perverted mind, she said.
She also demanded V Somanna to resign from his post or that the chief minister should take proper action.
Gatti also said that under the BJP regime, prices of food products are skyrocketing.
She further said that the protests against the Surathkal toll gate will continue.
Congress leaders Shashidhar Hegde, Chandrakala, Appi and others were present.
