Mangaluru, Oct 25: The city is always in the forefront in producing talents who have emerged to achieve greater heights in the glamour world. Yashaswi Devadiga is one such talented actress who is now eagerly waiting for her upcoming Tulu movie ‘Paper Student’.
Yashaswi Devadiga who graduated in journalism, hails from Kanwatheerta near Talapady, and is presently residing in Mumbai. She is the daughter of Sadashiva S Devadiga and Vandana S Devadiga.
At a very young age, Yashaswi brought laurels in modelling career. She has won Miss Mumbai 2017, subtitle Miss fresh 2017 at Miss Mumbai, won Miss fab Pune Miss beautiful smile 2017, and participated in Miss South India 2018.
After a successful modelling career, there popped an opportunity for Yashaswi who stepped into daily soap ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chasma’ on Sab TV where she played the alleged wife of Popatlal.
Yashaswi went on to make her debut in Tulu movie ‘Belchappa’ in 2018. She also appeared in music video ‘Kitni Bechain Hoke’ for Jotica Thangri.
Speaking to daijiworld.com, she said, “I participated in Miss South India and my pictures were on social media seeking votes. It was the director of ‘Belchappa’ who saw those pictures and roped me in for the movie. I later signed Paper Student as well.”
On Paper student, Yashaswi said, “My character is very unique who gets along with almost anyone but in her own way. Someone straight forward yet protective, sweet yet strong headed. The story, you have to give an A plus to it. I could not say no when I actually read it. Director Vadiraj has written it with such profound accuracy, so professionally structured, that every character has its own story to say. It is a beautiful story which kept me captivated till the last page, so had to say yes. This movie’s story is its first hero.
“My parents are very supportive of my choice of career and are eagerly waiting for 'Paper Student' and Sindi web series titled ‘Wedding Bells 2’,” said Yashaswi.
Tulu movie Paper Student is scheduled to release on December 23.
