Puttur: Expired injection given to month old baby – Complaint filed against doctor

Puttur, Oct 26: Father of a one-and-half month old baby filed a complaint against a doctor of a hospital in the city, accusing him of administering expired injection to the child.

Jeevan Prakash D’Souza, a resident of Kanyana had taken his child to a hospital on October 24 and taken an injection. However, once the injection was given, Jeevan read the label on the injection which showed that it had expired.

Hence, he filed a complaint urging action against the negligence of the doctor.

Reportedly, the police have called the doctor to the station and held an inquiry.

    Its very sad that such thing happened Expired injections given to a bbay putting the Childs life at risk Corrective action must be taken by the authorities urgently

    Ridiculous, playing with infants life. The effects of expired injection will show later on in the infants life. The doctor should be booked for medical negligence. Regarding medical negligence this is only a tip of the iceberg.

    This Doctor would have given expired injections to many, as most people even if educated they trust Doctor and Nurses so much .. We follow their instructions blindly even if it is wrong.
