Mangaluru, Oct 29: Deepavali celebrations went aglitter at 'Expodium' in Expert PU College Kodialbail on Thursday October 27. The ‘festival of lights’ came alive when the entire auditorium wore a festive look with diyas and lanterns. The celebration observed a ritualistic inaugration by lighting the lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Sadhvi Shri Maathaanandamayee, Shri Gurudevadatta Samsthanam, Shree Kshethra Odiyooru lauded the vision, relentless hard work and indomitable strength of professor Narendra L Nayak in carving out a great institution like Expert. She gave her thoughts about the spiritual perspective of light and Diwali. She added the real meaning of Deepavali is to ignite the flame of soul consciousness within that will make us glow with divine knowlege.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions said, “Deepavali is the festival of beauty, happiness and it signifies the light of knowledge.She enunciated several meaningful rituals and practices followed during the festival and their relevance and significance. She emphasized on the importance of festivals in one’s life as they symbolize the demolition of external and internal evils.
Professor Narendra L Nayak, Chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, urged the students to adopt the values of the festival of Deepavali to achieve further milestones in their journey of excellence. Professor Ramachandra Bhat the principal, welcomed and Srividya, lecturer in Physics and programme director proposed the vote of thanks. Ankush N Nayak, director, Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions, Architect Deepika A Nayak, Ustad Rafeeq Khan, Trustee, Dr Mohan Pai, Yogaratna Gopalakrishna Delampady were the other dignitaries on the dais.
Scintilating folk dance performance by the students brought forth the festive fervour. Deepavali lantern making competition was held and the wide variety of lanterns prepared by students was the cynosure of all eyes.The programme included various fun-filled activities and games.Winners were felicitated by the dignitaries. The students Riddhi Adappa, Prasheeth Shetty and Sanyuktha compered the programme.
