Udupi, Oct 29: The department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering, MIT Manipal organized Control Instrumentation Systems conference 2022 (CISCON 2022) on October 28-29.
About 37 technical papers are getting deliberated during the 2 days event. Dr Ramakrishnan Raman, fellow at Honeywell aerospace Bengaluru, Dr Prashnath Mhaskar, professor, McMaster University, Canada and Dr Chinmay Rajhans, professor MIT Manipal delivered expert talks. Dr Sudhirraj, professor, JKSHIM, Nitte conducted a post conference workshop on Design Thinking, which is well received by participants.
The inauguration of the conference was done by Dr Ramakrishnan Raman, Fellow at Honeywell Aerospace Bengaluru. He has stressed the knowledge of basic science of systems is important for engineering graduates to apply advanced tools like Machine learning and artificial intelligence to solve complex systems. Also, he reiterated that best performance with optimal cost at minimal time in modern gadgets is possible by advancement in computational power and modern computational algorithms. However, he mentioned that human intelligence cannot be replaced by machines.
Director MIT, Dr Anil Rana, retired commander has presided over the function. He advised all participants to make use of deliberations and shared his experience of control and instrumentation of naval war ships.
Dr Shreesha C, head of department welcomed the gathering. Ganesh Nayak, convener gave overview of the conference. Aneesha Acharya, coconvener proposed vote of thanks. P Chenchu Saibabu coconvener was also present.
