Addressing the gathering, outgoing DC Dr K V Rajendra said, “This is first valedictory function and I have never been witness to such a function. I need to appreciate the cooperation of every department and the officials. I took charge during the pandemic and I could feel my heart beat when I entered Hejamady toll gate thinking about the challenges in the district. Due to the cooperation of everyone we could tackle it successfully. The decisions taken during the pandemic was a conservative approach involving every official and people’s representatives and I need to thank all of them as well.”

He also said, “We took the right decisions during the pandemic for the betterment of people. I thank all the departments for their constant support in the decision-making process. We tried our best to use smart city funds effectively. I understand that public has faced inconvenience. I also thank the media for their support. MRPL has also supported me in all causes of the district administration during the pandemic.”

“I am very lucky that I got an opportunity to work during Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President’s visits to the district. It was collective work of everyone that brought success to our work. It was a challenge during PM’s visit as there was less time for the event. Due to the support of every department, the event went off smoothly,” said Dr K V Rajendra.

“After 2 years as I introspect on whatever I have done, I think reaching out to the people was the biggest achievement,” he added.

He coordinated with all the departments well and if any decision had to be taken it was done so after discussions. Every official liked Dr Rajendra's personality and his style of functioning. His personality had positive impact on people. It is not so easy to work without any flaws as during Prime Minister and President’s visits, Dr K V Rajendra showed his dedication and commitment then. Dr Rajendra is known for his simplicity.”
