Mangaluru: St Aloysius Gonzaga School holds special assembly on Deepavali

Mangaluru, Oct 29: St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated one of the most prominent festivals of India, Deepavali through a special assembly, on October 28.

The principal, Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ in his message emphasized on promoting the social resonance among the students by lighting the light within themselves, by doing good things in day-to-day life and there by spreading the goodness in the society. He also recalled the importance of light which is depicted in the holy books of Bible and Quran which portrays dispel of darkness and imbibes in us the spirit of knowledge and virtuousness.

On this occasion, the school was decked with thoran, rangoli and diyas.The significance of the feast was highlighted by Avani P of IV A and a video was presented detailing the significance of the feast. The dance and the action song depicted happiness and harmony, the very core essence of Deepavali.

The programme was compered by Valerie Janice Rodrigues and Adil Arun of Class VII B, coordinated by Veena Mayekar and Shamitha Shetty.
