Mangaluru: Manipal school Attavar observes auxiliary staff appreciation week

Mangaluru, Oct 31: It has been the tradition at Manipal school, Attavar to celebrate, appreciate and honour their auxiliary staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes in many areas of school. The auxiliary staff appreciation week was observed at school from October 17 to 22. Throughout the week students from Grades 1 to 10 took up various jobs of the housekeeping staff like dusting/cleaning, sweeping, mopping and arranging their own classrooms. Students, teachers and also the Admin staff wore DIY badges with really creative designs and slogans as a token of gratitude.

The appreciation week culminated with a special assembly that was held on the morning of October 22. The auxiliary staff were welcomed by teachers and students with a posy. Sharanya of Grade V and Nida Mariyam of Grade VI dedicated a Kannada song 'Chapale Chapale' to their dear support staff. On behalf of their fellow classmates, Shayan of Grade VII and Nakshatra of Grade VIII acknowledged the services of the auxiliary staff. They also shared their thoughts on how students can help the support staff on a daily basis.

Meena, a housekeeping staff, expressed her happiness and contentment in serving this institution for 11 long years. On behalf of the entire auxiliary staff she expressed her gratitude towards the school management, principal, staff and students. The school administrator Vinod Robin D’Souza, in his speech said that the school is ever grateful for the services of the housekeeping staff as they work selflessly to keep the school spotless. He also thanked the school bus drivers for always being on clock and making the commute safe and comfortable for the students.

The principal, Anuradha Shivaram, in her address congratulated and appreciated the auxiliary staff for their selfless services and dedication towards work. She also stated that we must teach our children to have gratitude in heart for those who served them and be kind and respectful towards all those who help us on daily basis. She also asked the students to take a pledge that they will continue to keep the campus clean and also follow the school bus rules diligently.

Tanvi Amin of Grade X and Manya Nullipady of Grade IX compered the programme.
