Sullia: KVG Medical College AO Murder – Three Held?

Sullia, May 9: Relating to the ghastly murder of Ramakrishna A S (48), administrative officer of K V G Medical College here, on the night of April 28 by motor bike-born assailants with sharp weapons, the personnel of Dakshina Kannada district criminal intelligence bureau have reportedly taken three persons into custody. It is said that the son of a highly influential person was taken into custody from Somwarpet on Saturday, while two others, one of whom is the personal assistant of the first person, were arrested on Sunday.
Rumours say that the person arrested on Saturday had some longstanding grudge against Ramakrishna, and that hired killers were paid Rs 15 lac for eliminating the administrative officer. Tug-of-war over college administration is stated to be the reason for this murder. Ramakrishna, who was strict and straight forward, had displeased many because of these traits, people say.
Investigation is being directed by assistant superintendent of police, Dr Rohini Katoch. Although the main accused is said to be a relative of the family running KVG Group of Educational Institutions, exact details are not known, as policemen are tight-lipped. It is felt that the policemen are not prepared to spill the beans, because of the involvement of politically strong personalities in the case, and sensitive nature of the case.
