Mangaluru, Oct 31: Rashtriya Ekta Diwas also known as National Unity Day was celebrated in Carmel School in honour of the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The programme commenced with the meaningful prayer service. It was followed by a welcome dance and speech which was delivered by Tanushree C V. The students enacted the skit that highlighted the significance of the day. The dance that portrayed the message Unity in Diversity gained the attraction of the audience.
The chief guest of the day Teacher Dimple in her message called upon the students to work to uplifting the value of unity in small ways. She also said that we as citizens of India have a great role in spreading peace and secularism.
Sister Preena, vice principal administered to the oath taking ceremony. Abhinav Sadanand and Khadeeja Anam compered the programme. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mehvish B Fathima.
As a part of the celebration, the students took active part in Unity Run. The teachers in their respective classes briefed the students about the importance of the day and national integration.
The programme ended by singing the National Anthem.
