Mangaluru, Nov 1: “Kannada language is a reflection of our culture in our country. Kannada is filled with diversity. We are fortunate to have been born in such a land,” said Expert P U College principal Professor Ramachandra Bhat.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Kannada Rajyotsava programme at the Expert P U College, Kodialbail. “A language will be strong if its roots and culture are strong. We should preserve the language and make it grow. The language, literature and culture are interconnected. Its flag should fly still higher,” he said.

Students presented Kannada songs, poems, dances and other cultural programmes. A quiz on Kannada language at the end of the programme made it interesting.

Head of the department of Kannada language Karunakar Ballur, Kannada professor Ramya Anil and other professors were present.

First PUC student Deepika B Aralikatti compered the programme and proposed a vote of thanks.
