Mount Carmel Central School celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava, Deepavali, National Unity Day

Mangaluru, Nov 1: With strength in words, pureness in thoughts, zeal in hearts and to salute the spirit of Karnataka, Mount Carmel Central School celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava, Deepavali and National Unity Day in the school auditorium.

The programme for the senior students was hosted by grade VIII A and B which commenced with a prayer service followed by a welcome dance by the students. Teacher Reshma Fernandes welcomed and introduced the chief guest Dr Vasudeva Belle, principal, Government P U College, Mulki. The students highlighted the significance of the triad celebration showcasing their patriotism and talent in their power packed performance comprising songs, shadow play, mime show and the dances.

The chief guest Dr Vasudeva Belle appreciated the programme put up by the students and highlighted the beauty of geographical features and cultural diversities of Karnataka. He also encouraged the students to love and promote the local languages. Students Krislyn, Kripalee, Jiah, Yuganth, Mahati and Dhyeya compered the programme. Cheryl and Zayan proposed the vote of thanks.

The students of grade IV put up the programme for the juniors. It began with invoking God’s blessings. Prathyush and Manith of grade IV welcomed and introduced the chief guest Mrs Akshaya R Shetty, lecturer in Kannada, Sahyadri College Mangaluru followed by a graceful welcome dance by the students. The students highlighted the significance of the tri-celebration through Power Point presentation, showcasing their patriotism and talent in their powerful performance at the cultural programme. The chief guest Akshaya R Shetty appreciated the students for their vibrant performance of a combined celebration of Kannada Rajyotsava, Deepavali and National Unity Day and urged everyone to be proud of the diverse culture and the festivals of our country. Aadhya and Arush proposed a vote of thanks.
