Mangaluru: 'Koti Kanta Gaayana' at SJEC on Occasion of 67th Kannada Rajyotsava celebration

Mangaluru, Nov 2: The State witnessed the preparation of 67th Kannada Rajyotsava Celebration all over the places in different parts of Karnataka under the initiatives of Kannada abd Culture department under the able leadership of chief minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj S Bommai and Energy and Kannada and Culture minister, Government of Karnataka, V Sunil Kumar from October 28 - 31.

The event 'Koti Kanta Gaayana' was organized at SJEC on October 28 in the august presence of Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, director of SJEC, Fr Alwyn Richard D’Souza, assistant director of SJEC and Dr Rio D’Souza, principal of SJEC, Dr Purushothama Chippar, vice-principal of SJEC, Rakesh Lobo, HR manager of SJEC. The event was convened by Poornesh M and Dr K Jyothi also witnessed presence of various deans, heads of various departments, teaching and non-teaching staffs and students of SJEC.

Sourabha, Kannada club member welcomed the gathering and presented a brief about the importance of the event and purpose of gathering held.

A list of six Kannada songs were selected based on the different aspects covering the details of the rich culture of Karnataka and representing the beauty of Kannada language to be sung by more than a Crore of individuals from different parts of the state at a time in more than 10,000 locations like educational institutions, various associations, universities, employment places, other offices etc, As a part of this initiative, the entire fraternity of SJEC consisting of the management, teaching and non-teaching staffs and students joined together and the selected songs were sung by all at a time making it a most remarkable event in the history of Karnataka.

The programme was concluded with oath read by Chandrika Patil and vote of thanks from the student volunteer.
