Mangaluru: St Agnes College organizes workshop on ‘Soft skill training’

Mangaluru, Nov 3: A one-day workshop on ‘Soft skill training” was organised on October 29 by the departments of Mathematics and Physics, St Agnes College (Autumonous), Mangaluru.

Dr Malini Hebbar, associate professor, department of English, Centre of Post Graduate and Researches, St Agnes College and Flexon Fernandes, Ad Campaign Strategist, Amazon were the resource persons for the programme.

During the first session, Dr Malini Hebbar gave adetailed information about personal effectiveness and resume writing. She conducted various activities to provide insights about the diversity of viewpoints, volunteerism, and knowing ourselves. She gave a brief idea about writing business letters. Marina Lobo, HOD, Department of Physics welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. Ishika R Salian, student of third year B.Sc. proposed the vote of thanks.

Flexon Fernandes handled the second session on facing interviews and group discussion skills. He briefed about the important requirements to ace a placement interview. He also gave examples of common questions that could be asked during an interview. He provided the necessary information about group discussions. He conducted a demo of group discussions for students to know about various aspects pertaining them. Lavita, assistant professor from the department of Mathematics introduced the resource person. Pratiksha, Pranamya, and Bhavisha from third year gave their feedback about both of the sessions. Shravya, from the final year BCA proposed the vote of thanks. Satwika Shetty, compered the programme.

The students of Third year BSc, BCA and second MSc big data analytics attended the programme.
