Udupi: Govt allows for land conversion within 10 cents under PTCL act by DC

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JS/EP)

Udupi, Nov 5: The government has released a notification on November 5 that land within 10 cents belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe can be converted at the level of the deputy commissioner (DC).

The earlier notification by the government made the conversion possible only after obtaining prior approval by the government. The current circular is issued by the chief minister after MLA Raghupati Bhat had submitted a request to the chief minister and the minister of revenue in this connection. He had urged the government to discuss the matter in the assembly and take a decision.

If the application for conversion of the land within 10 cents is submitted by SC/ST for residence, it will be possible to convert it on the DC level.

MLA Raghupati Bhat has thanked the chief minister, revenue minister R Ashok, minister of social welfare Kota Srinivas Poojary and minister of the welfare of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe, Sriramulu.

Even after 3 months of the notification, we are not able to submit application for land conversion because the bhoomi software throws an error message ! The government officials are saying the new notification has not been implemented in the bhoomi software. We request the concerned department to look into this matter and resolve the issue.
