Udupi: Four days Laksha Deepotsava begins at Sri Krishna Math

Udupi, Nov 6: Thousands of devotees took part in the four-day Teppotsava and Laksha Deepotsava festivities that started at Sri Krishna Math on the occasion of Uthana Dwadashi recently.

Paryaya Krishnapura Math seer Sri Vidyasagara Theertha swamiji offered puja. In the evening, the senior and junior heads of different maths joined together at Car Street, where they placed earthen diyas on the decorated pedestals and set Laksha Deepotsava, the festival of lights. During the evening festival, Swamijis came together to offer puja to Lord Krishna and Arghya (libation) in honor of the Lord.

Thousands of devotees witnessed the Laksha Deepotsava and felt blessed by lighting the diyas.

The Utsava Murty of the deity was kept in the decorated raft and taken around the pond, duly accompanied by musical instruments. The devotees pulled the chariot around the car street.

Crackers were burst during the chariot procession. Thousands of devotees who came from far off places took part with the feeling of devotion and accomplishment at the festival.
