Mangaluru, Nov 6: World Konkani Centre observed its founders day in commemoration of 88th birth anniversary of late Basti Vaman Shenoy here on Sunday, November 6.
A musical tribute was conducted by Muralidhar Kamath and team.
World Konkani Centre president Nandagopal Shenoy said, “today we are observing founders day to commemorate the 88th birth anniversary of founder late Basti Vaman Shenoy. We are conducting a musical tribute, an interview session with family and well wishers of Late Basti Vaman Shenoy. His contribution to Konkani is immense. The World Konkani Centre was started to promote Konkani language and culture and since then several programmes like scholarships to the needy have been introduced."
World Konkani Centre president Nandagopal Shenoy, vice-president Kudupi Jagadish Shenoy, Gilbert D Souza, secretary Giridhar Kamath and trustees were present.
