Brahmavar, Nov 6: The annual sports event of GM Vidyaniketan Public School and GM Global School was held on November 5 in a grand manner outside the lush green 'GM Arena'. Ananta Padmanabha, circle inspector of Brahmavar was the chief guest of the sports event, he lit the sports torch and started the sports event.

After receiving the honor of the students' march-past he said, "School sports and anniversary are the most important days in the life of a student. Everyone should participate in sports. But today children are becoming physically disabled due to mobile usage. GM has a great outdoors. There are all kinds of systematic training. Let GM's name spread in different places.” 

Brahmachari K N, principal, unfurled the school flag and said, "The game should not end as a mere sporting event. They should engage themselves in yoga, games and exercises daily. This will help them to be mentally and physically capable and achieve in education."

Ram Shetty, head teacher of Vidyamandira, said that, "Sports builds a disciplined life.” Pranav Shetty, principal of GM Global School wished all the winners and asked those who did not get the award today to continue their efforts.

Dinesh Kumar A, secretary of Udupi District Amateur Athletic Association, was the chief guest for the valedictory ceremony of the sports event. He gave away the award to the winners and said, “GM President established such an institution with great anticipation. Today, it is very gratifying to see the success and growth of the organization. Many educational institutions in the city do not have grounds. But GM has a well prepared ground. Those who lose in this event have to participate in the next competition with continuous practice."

Prakash Chandra Shetty, president of the school management board, wished all the sportspersons good luck and wished that the students of the rural areas should get all kinds of facilities like the students of the city. In this regard, all the children in GM are being provided with state of art facilities in terms of academics, curricular and extracurricular activities. It is my great wish that the children of our institution should step into the outside world with all the experiences.”

A colorful balloon floated in the sky by school Guna, Medha, Vidya, Pragya, Shraddha teams, Scouts and Guides, students of GM Global School, Vidyamandira, added to the attraction of the sports event. Tara Prakashchandra Shetty, member of the school management board, N S Adiga, school founder principal, Prashant Kumar, councilor of the institution, Nagaraj Somayaji, vice-president of PTA, Udaya Kumar, physical teacher, Naveen Kumar, GM Vidyaniketan Public School, GM Global School, GM Vidyamandira teaching staff, student staff and parents were present. The medha team of the school won the champion title.
