Dubai, Nov 8: The most awaited and sensational Golden Voice of UAE 2k22 concluded with grand success. Two new star singers were introduced to the Konkani music industry. Aenson Mathias Thottam and Valenteena Castelino Shirthady bagged the maiden crown of Golden Voice of UAE 2k22. The mesmerizing evening was presented by Mangalore Konkans Dubai at Emirates Theatre Dubai on November 6.
The event kick started with the grand procession of contestants, patrons, judges and guests. Master of ceremony Floyd introduced the legacy of Mangalore Konkans of past 34 years and welcomed the gathering.
Prakash Crasta and Marleeta Fernandes from Mangalore Konkans Dubai led the procession holding MK flag and UAE national flag, followed by president James Mendonca.
Twelve final contestants accompanied the sponsors of the event to the stage as a token of respect and gratitude. Ronald Martis from Blue Royal group, Gilbert D’Souza from Al Tabadul Auto maintenance, Benedict Pinto from Al Khalidiya group, Sanesh from Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Michael Moras from Qualified Machinery Services, Sudarshan Hedge, Lancy Madtha from Integrated freight & logistics, Wilson Fernandes from Fernandes group. Rupesh Pinto from Reyzen Gulf International, Manoj Vas from Resort Supplies trading, Rameeth Kumar from Land Trades Mangaluru and Valerian D’Almeida from Quick Digital and Advisory were accompanied by 12 contestants.
The 12 contestants namely Sheethal D’Souza Vamanjoor, Anil Pinto Allipade, Vinola Sequeira Valencia, Ostine Crasta Talapady, Nisha D’Souza Kanajar, Anil Rodrigues Kundapur, Disha Pasanna Bajpe, Aenson Mathias Thottam, Priyanka D’Souza Bendur, Valen Sequeira Valencia, Valenteena Castelino Shirthady and Alwyn Mendonca Angelore were welcomed to the stage along with the sponsors in a grand manner.
President of Mangalore Konkans James Mendonca honoured the sponsors with sash and thanked them for their contribution for GVOUAE 2k22.
Judges of the completion Rag Dev fame Charan Kumar, Prabakhar degree holder Fr Reginald D’Souza, and Sangeeth Guru fame Joel Pereira were welcomed with grandeur and Mangalore Konkans members Alwyn Pinto, Preethy Seema and Stephan Menezes escorted them.
General manager of Globelink West Star Shipping - Canute D’souza, managing director of Leyton Shipping - Lancy D’Souza, managing director of Ivory Grand Real Estate - Michael D’Souza, CEO and founder of Merit Freight - Joseph Mathias and managing director of Hyssna International - Ronald Pinto were the patrons of the programme and they were hailed to the dais in a grand procession accompanied by Sonali Fernandes. President James Mendonca honoured the patrons with sash who inaugurated the programme by beating the traditional Konkani musical instrument Gumta. James
Mendonca welcomed all audience, contestants and sponsors and thanked everyone who supported to host the show GVOUAE 2k22.
Its Show Time team presented prayer dance and prayed the blessings on the show.
The competition began with grand music by Band Ramiro lead by ace musician Ramiro Mascarenhas and team. Internationally acclaimed master of ceremony Roshan D’Silva took charge of the competition and presented the show in his unique way of presentation and witty comments.
The judges were introduced to the audience in a video presentation along with their brief profile. Marks counting committee head and MK member Melroy Pinto handed over the mark sheets to the judges.
The programme was framed with slow songs round, fast beats round and Goan songs round. In the first half, all the 12 participants presented slow round songs. The judges commented on the positive notes of the singing and also gave suggestions for improvisation. In fast beats round, the twelve contestants presented fast songs where the audience were forced to tap their feet.
As a rule in the contest, 6 contestants got eliminated and the other six contestants were selected for Goan songs round. Vinola Sequeira, Priyanka D’Souza and Valenteena Castelino from the female category and Aenson Mathias, Anil Rodrigues and Valen Sequeira from male category got selected for final Goan songs round.
After the final presentation by six contestants, an entertainment programme was held where Sangon Mugdana Kalakar under the leadership of ace movie actor, director and drama artiste Pradeep Barboza Paladka presented some rib tickling comedy skits which began a laughter riot. Tru Entertainer led by Nishan presented mesmerizing dance performances which showcased the dance culture of Konkani. Its Show Time presented nine approved dances of India in unique way. All these performers were honoured with memento and gifts.
The twelve contestants were honoured on behalf of Mangalore Konkans with mementos. Priest of St Mary’s Church Dubai and Konkani community spiritual director Fr Victor Fernandes honoured the contestants. Also, chief of Maestro Events Sujith, designer of videos and banners Merwyn, leader of Band Ramiro, Ramiro Mascarenhas, photographers of the show Ramcy Fernandes and Lovelyn D’Souza were also honoured for their service to the show.
Sharal D’Costa and Cletus Ostine received a symbol of distinction for having received the most YouTube views and likes respectively during the Golden Voice of UAE 2022 journey.
Adjudicator Charan Kumar sang a well-known song, Panduranga, with Joel Pereira on piano. Another well-known song, Ello Ello Soro Pileyo, was also performed.
Fr Victor and the president honoured all the judges. A speech was delivered by Fr Reginald D’Souza at this moment.
At last during results, Vinola Sequeira and Valen Sequeira secured the 2nd runner up position of GVOUAE 2k22 and they were honored with trophy and Rs 10,000 and gift vouchers.
The 1st runner up position was taken by Anil Rodrigues and Priyanka D’Souza. They were conferred with trophies and Rs 10,000, gift vouchers and hampers.
With loud cheers and a spectacular sight, the winning positions of Golden Voice of UAE 2k22 were conferred to Aenson Mathias and Valenteena Castelino in a grand manner. They were bestowed with GVOUAE 2k22 crown, winners’ trophy, Rs 50,000, gift hampers and vouchers.
The patrons and sponsors of the show were present along with president James Mendonca who honoured the winners with awards.
Roshan D’Silva thanked everyone and concluded the show.
