Beltangady, Nov 12: Shreyansh Jain, native of Hirebail in Kalasa showed his devotion towards Lord Manjunatha of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala in a unique manner. He walked 360 km along with a calf from Jigani to Dharmasthala.

Shreyansh Jain, who is an ardent lover of cattle, is employed in a private firm in Bengaluru. During the Covid pandemic lockdown, he developed interest in dairy farming and reared a cow of Gir breed. He had decided to offer the first offspring of the cow to Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala. Accordingly, he walked 360 km in 36 days, along with his calf Bheeshma.

Shreyansh did not take a single day of leave during his 360 km journey. After a morning walk with the calf, he used to work from home and continue his foot march in the evening. People along the way gave enough food for him as well as his calf. He has spent only Rs 1000 for his journey. Shreyansh got the calf checked for any sickness in every village on the way.

Shreyansh is an alumni of SDM college of Ujire. As he got educated in Siddavana Gurukula, from a young age he loved cows.

@Chandra, It is just a matter of a second. No pain after the vein is cut. You see, it is not possible to take permission before eating food. Be it an animal or vegetable. If you think of pain before eating, you should not eat anything.

@Nawaz sir So if murder by cutting vein and without pain is ok? I agree that it is a food chain. But my comment is only because one of the reader said making an animal walk is painful

@Chandra, Why do you think that Non vegetarians have no feelings? . Do you know that Hitler was a vegetarian. Forget others, I myself feel pain when a cow is made to walk for such a long distance just to leave it to others that too to leave it for others; when it was possible for him to arrange a vehicle

Bheeshmaa ??? We rejoice at birth of a male offspring but that is limited to humans only. Good idea - donate, the male calf to a temple and twist it as it suits to gain publicity.

Recently there was news that Karnataka Government made taking permission online mandatory before taking cow beyond 15 Kms from its original place. Did he take permission to move the cow beyond 15 Kms ? Otherwise it is an offence. or the law applicable only to harass particular community ? Can Bomma or Police clarify regarding this new rule ? What is the punishment if online permission is not taken in advance ?

Agree. But rules are same for all right ? Permission not for carrying cow to slaughterhouse. It is Karnataka Government recent rule to "manadatorily" get online "prior" permission to move a cow beyond 15 Kms for any purpose. If offended ask your government why exemption in this case ? I am not objecting to his Bhakti or intention. But, rule of law should be same for all.

There is no mention of him taking or not taking the due permission to take the cow 360 KM away. Let us hope he knows the existing rules and complied to it. It is wrong to defy any rule for any reason.
