Labourers hired for PM's event in Bengaluru allege non-payment of dues

Bengaluru, Nov 12 (IANS): Labourers who were hired to work for the unveiling of the 108-foot-tall statue of Bengaluru's founder Nadaprabhu Kempegowda by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 11 have lodged a police complaint alleging that they have not been paid their dues.

The complaint has been lodged by 40 labourers at Sidlaghatta police station in Chikkaballapur district against local BJP leader Nandeesh.

According to the police, the workers were hired to work at the venue of statue in the premises of Bengaluru International Airport.

It has been alleged that Nandeesh had promised to pay Rs 500 to each worker, but offered to pay only Rs 100 after the completion of the programme.

The police are probing the matter.

Recently, when PM came to Mangalore, from every village of the district, BJP arranged lorries and brought some lakh of people to fill venue of the meeting. Among them, many were the labourers, who had to take off from their daily work. All were promised a day's wage, who were so brought for the meeting. In Mangalore, a labourer gets a minimum Rs 600. When the meeting was over, all of them were paid Rs100 only. That time, I happened to be in Kinnigoli and many of the labourers told us the reality of cheating of those poor people by BJP leaders.

I feel sorry for poor labourers.. Bribe Julmla Party so cheap even labourers promised salary not given as promised. Totally 80% commission on poor labourers wages. They spent 48 Cr just for 4 hours for Feku s visit . And 108 Cr for statue. And they don't have courtesy to pay labourers. And Feku s Chaddi Andhbhakth don't have any shame. BJP means Bribe inflation Commission.. and our Kannadigas suffering .. 2024 BJP mukth India for sure..

B.J.P is doing everything possible to secure votes and to stay in power. Buying M.P and M.L.A and now this 40% government has stooped so low. they have started hiring poor laborers and are denying their wages. How low can they stoop? It is just a matter of time before Jay Shah becomes the Finance minister instead of Nirmala sitharaman who is clueless. Demonetisation was the biggest blunder in the history of India to convert black money to white.
