Mangaluru: YIASCM, mega blood donation drive inaugurated

Mangaluru, Nov 14: Minister for higher education, skill development and entrepreneurship Dr Ashwath Narayan inaugurated the Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM) and a mega blood donation drive here at Kulur on Monday November 14

Addressing the gathering, Dr Ashwath Narayana said, “Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi’s contribution to the field of education needs to be appreciated. Yenepoya has done a remarkable thing with establishment of deemed to be university. The institution has done a huge difference in the lives of several. Students need to be more serious about their career and need to be focused to learn and develop their personality.”

Mangaluru north MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty said, “It is because of the institutions like Yenepoya and others that Mangaluru is on top in the education map in the world.”

Mangaluru MLA U T Khader said, “Yenepoya institute gives opportunities in sports, academics, and extra curriculum activities. Students need to take full advantage of it.” He also urged the higher education minister to take concrete steps to curb down narcotics which he said will solve 90% of the problems.

Chancellor Yenepoya Deemed to be University, Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi said, “It is a matter of pride to have a Yenepoya campus at Kulur. I am thankful to Dr Ashwath Narayana who took several measures to encourage start-ups, focus on skill development and entrepreneurship. I thank MLA Bharath Y Shetty and U T Khader for showing impetus to the growth and development of this institution.”

Chairman Yenepoya group Yenepoya Mohammed Kunhi, mayor Jayananda Anchan, corporator Kiran Kumar, vice chancellor Dr M Vijayakumar, pro vice chancellor Dr BH Sripathi Rao, registrar Dr K S Ganghadhara Somayaji and others were present.

Principal Dr Arun Bhagwath welcomed the gathering.
